This page covers nullstate.io and nullcast, the publishing tool that uses the "nullcast" Meta app.

nullcast

nullcast is a private publishing tool. It is run by one person, Ian Miles, on his own computer, to schedule and publish posts to his own accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X, TikTok and YouTube. It is not offered to the public, and nobody else can sign in to it.

When Ian connects his Facebook account, nullcast receives access tokens for the Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts he manages. Those tokens are stored only on his computer. They are never sent to nullstate.io or to any other server, apart from the platform they belong to.

nullcast uses that access only to publish posts and a first comment to Ian's own accounts, and to read back the status of those posts. It does not read, collect or store other people's profiles, messages, comments or any other personal data.

Instagram and Threads fetch media from a public link. For that step a file is uploaded to a storage bucket under a random name, and deleted as soon as the platform has fetched it (at most one day later).

nullstate.io

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or ad trackers, and has no accounts or forms. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and time) to run and protect the service.

The page at /oauth/meta exists only to hand a Facebook sign-in code back to nullcast on Ian's computer. It stores nothing.

your data

nullcast holds no third-party user data, so there is nothing about you to delete. See data deletion for how to ask anyway, or how to remove the app's access to your own account.
